Five Minutes for the Planet – TONIGHT |
A little late notice, but spread the word on this!!
This Web page is in French, so I’ll explain the concept in English.
The idea is 5 minutes without electricity on Feb. 1st 2007, between 7:55pm and 8:00pm in your own time zone. TVs, computers, and lights OFF for 5 minutes to show governments (and media and people who decide on energy issues) from all over the world that we want something done to stop energy waste, that we care about the planet’s health, and to show our support and urgency to do something about it!
Why Feb. 1st? Because on Feb. 2nd, the new report and research done for the UN about climatic evolution and drastic changes will be revealed in Paris, France.
5 minutes only, it costs nothing, doesn’t last long, and it’s a concrete action to show people governing your country, wherever you are in the world, that you care!
And it might be a great way to unplug and just talk to your mate or simply take a relaxing break!

Heavy Duty |
When I was at the dermatologist’s on Tuesday, I got weighed. And I have to admit, I was a little surprised. I don’t own a scale and don’t weigh myself on any sort of regular basis. But I was about 15 lbs. heavier than what I thought I was! I am not at all a fat person, but according to the BMI calculator I just checked online, I am at the very top of the “normal” range.
So: snack less, walk more, try to get through that Pilates DVD, and eat better meals (i.e., some days I just end up having crackers and cheese or popcorn or something for dinner).
