Heroes episode 3

Monday, October 9th, 2006

Wow, yet another great episode. But, another episode that of course just leaves you wondering what’s to come. I’d read some spoilers for tonight’s show, but they didn’t really spoil anything for me. From the previews, next week looks interesting, too! (Especially Claire’s storyline – whoops! Can’t wait to see her talk her way out of that one!)

[Edit - 10/10, 7:17 AM] So now that it’s the next day and I’ve had a while to think about this … Okay, one of the spoilers I read was to watch out for a creepy West Indian man. That was clearly the guy at the bar who Matt was staring at. I don’t think he’s Syler, though, because based on what we saw of D.L.’s mother, I think D.L. is West Indian. So that was probably him. Unless Syler is D.L. But I don’t think so, because Syler’s power is apparently some sort of mind control or telekenisis (probably the latter, that would explain how his victims were flung to the wall and pinned in place with random objects). I read that D.L. can walk through walls. (That’s how he broke out of prison..!) Also, how sucky was it for Nathan to announce to everyone that Peter tried to kill himself?! Apparently, the story hadn’t even gotten out, so why bother? I guess it’ll make Nathan look more caring somehow? And quickly on some of the other characters: Mohinder better watch out, because either his neighbor is a bad guy, or she’s just a bad actress. I can’t wait to see what Claire does next week (drives the quarterback into a wall?!). How cute is Hiro?! Niki is a totally sucky mom – “I found this ring on a dead body in the desert” – yeah? Why were you digging up bodies in the desert? Micah is getting a little suspicious, hopefully we’ll be seeing his power soon. Does Isaac need to be on heroin to paint, or could he just get high on anything? [/Edit]

“The Science of Sleep,” house stuff

Monday, October 9th, 2006

GG and I went to see The Science of Sleep on Saturday. We both really liked Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, by the same director, and from what we’d seen in previews, SoS looked pretty cool. I guess it was, I would recommend it. Probably, it could stand a second viewing. The effects were great, though, considering no “green screen” technology was used (except in the “Stéphane TV” segments, when it was obvious). It was a sweet story, but of course the end is a little confusing. Word on the street is that Stéphane dies at the end?!

Also, in house news: a contractor came by yesterday to measure for shutters and will get back to me with an estimate. The new bedroom set is coming in about a week (from Sofa King! haha!). My uncle is coming over next Saturday to help do the kitchen floor. As soon as the floor is done, I can get my new range. Once I have a working oven again, I will bake brownies!!
