Thanks for the link to KTC! As for the 2-space issue, I've had to learn not to do that too. I learned to type using a secretary's handbook, and a manual typewriter.

I have to confess--this is the very, very first time that I have ever seen this no two spaces at the end of a sentence rule. I'm very confused and don't think I could possibly break myself of this very ingrained habit that began in 8th grade typing class. I must investigate further.

It's also part of my job to make sure there's only one space between sentences. Fun, fun, fun!

Kevin, you are so argumentative. I bet if I had posted something in favor of adding the extra space, you would've written against it. Please also see the book <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Mac-not-typewriter-Robin-Williams/dp/0201782634/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1210868009&sr=1-1" rel="nofollow">Mac is Not a Typewriter</a>.

The doube space thing annoys me to no end. I'm surprised that some people haven't gotten the memo that this shouldn't be done. I worked with a stupid lady a while back who actually used three spaces! And the eco friendly brushes look wonderful! I just bought a kabuki brush and found out the bristles are made out of squirrel hair! Gross.

"Word Wise: Spaced Out: Please everybody, stop putting two spaces after a sentence when you’re typing! One of my biggest pet peeves (especially at work, where I have to go through and delete the extra spaces from things people enter in my database)."

NEVER!!! This is how I was taught in my typewriting class in junior high. And besides, it just looks silly if you don't.
